NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

It is said that you should never judge a book by its cover, although this is what always happens in society.Being different causes some kind of a scene, we all judge on a daily basis, whether we want to or not but next time that you judge someone remember that you could be judged worse.I have been judged throughout my life as lazy, dumb, stupid, slow, retarded and below average. This is not to do with the fact that my family are working class, oh no, it’s because I am dyslexic. The funny thing is that as a child I was abused both by teachers, family and friends calling me names and being bullied for being different. Looking back on the life that I have had, it has helped me in so many ways.I have said goodbye to the shy and approval seeking person that I was,  to a person that is ready for a challenge and ready to make a successful life for myself. It has been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, but I am finally becoming the adult with the child within.I have awakened the child in me, making sure that I live up to the dreams that I had for myself as a child. It is important that you stay true to yourself always and working to do what excites you. The more joy you get from the work you do the better. Work is something we spend most of our adult lives doing.Don’t let anybody take your dreams away from you. Treasure them and make sure that you will follow them, because dreams are what we live for.Happiness is the most important thing in life. To be happy and filled with joy is being blessed with all the good in the world.Challenging yourself will not only make you mentally strong, but also test your willpower. Have courage to do what others can only dream of. Overcome the obstacles of fear and go out there and do something you have always wanted to do. That is what I am doing.Remember your past. Use this to fuel your passion, to burn that flame deep inside you that knows that you want to do something. Maybe you don’t know what it is yet but have an idea. Go out there and work on it.Keep a journal and write your thoughts and feelings, read personal development books that stand out to you. They may have some information that will be vital to the changes you want to make.Life needs to be treasured which means stop wasting time doing things that you don’t love and find out what you do love.Making things happen in your life will change your life and this means making sure that you don’t let external factors affect you and cloud your decisions.Know what you want and follow your dreams and goals .If you are feeling scared, good, because this is a natural feeling which prepares you to take the steps to overcome your fears and boost your self esteem.By discovering what is stopping you deal with certain situations in your life,. you will be able to make changes to succeed. Is it that you have voices in your head saying that your not good enough or saying that you can’t do it? That is the inner voices crushing your dreams. Well get rid of the voices by doing the following:

  1. understand where they are coming from
  2. are they someone from the past eg family, teacher, bullies etc
  3. wipe them clean by putting new thoughts in your mind

How I did itI went back into my childhood and wrote and wrote till I got all the emotions and anger out on paper and read it to myself.I then wrote what I got out of life by being the way I was. Things I wouldn’t have if I was popular and not dyslexic.I then made sure that I didn’t hide myself any more and let out the real me. Writing what I am good at, my strengths and weaknesses and worked out what I wanted to do.I keep a journal with me at all times where I write how I feel and what’s going through my mind. I have also found exercises in some books that work on helping me discover who I am and what I really want.

  • Think of what job you would want to do if education and money were not and object.
  • Write down and think about which jobs you hate and despise.

This will help you realise a few things about yourself and your hidden abilities. The reasons why it is good to go for your dreams

  1. helps you think clearly about your life
  2. puts a shine on your self image ( a good self image makes a happy person)
  3. invites good luck in your life by forming information and opportunities
  4. sharpens your instincts

It is important to remember that working on yourself in not selfish. If, like me, you were told as a child that it is selfish to do things for yourself, forget it and put yourself first for a change.Working on something you love means that you are doing what you dream of.Things that you may need to discover from your past to help you along the way to success.

  • Why do you fear success and why are you scared?
  • Why were you isolated in your thoughts and not saying anything?
